Read Aloud Maker

Last updated: September 2026

What this app does

Read Aloud Maker lets teachers upload a PDF exam and generates spoken audio versions of its questions and answer choices, organized into a folder in the teacher's own Google Drive.

Information we access

When you connect your Google account, we request access to the following, and nothing more:

What we do with uploaded files

PDFs you upload are processed temporarily on our server solely to extract questions and generate audio. Uploaded PDFs and generated audio files are not stored permanently on our servers after processing completes; the only lasting copies are the audio files placed in your own Google Drive folder, which you control and can delete at any time.

Third-party services we use

To provide this service, we use:

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising, and we do not use your data to train any AI models.

Cookies and sessions

This app uses a session cookie solely to keep you signed in while you use the site. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Data retention and deletion

You can disconnect your Google account at any time using the "Disconnect" link on the homepage, which removes our access. You can also delete any read-aloud folder directly from the homepage, or by removing it from your Google Drive.

Children's privacy

This app is intended for use by teachers and other adults, not directly by children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
